The Book Doctors are Open for Business!

The Book Doctors are in! As part of the Children's Book Festival, Children's Books Ireland has announced that Book Clinics will be opening up in various locations in Dublin throughout October. Sponsored by UNESCO, the initiative aims to encourage youngsters and their families to read more books.
CBI explain: 'Perhaps your child has just finished reading a series and doesn’t know what to read next? Maybe there’s a reluctant young reader in your house? Or perhaps you want to find out more about what opportunities your family has to get involved with books? Book experts David MayburyKim Harte and Rosemary Hetherington as well as CBI staffers will be on hand to answer just these questions. As well as getting a consultation with the doctor and a book prescription to take to your local library or bookshop, CBI will have lots of fun activities and arts and crafts to keep young readers of all ages very busy! We’ll be providing bookmarks and stickers and don’t forget to pick up a free copy of our Recommended Reading Guide, reviewing all the books this year that we feel are worth reading.'
So head on over to the Book Clinic and let the experts prescribe the perfect book for you.
October 6th at No Grants Gallery Temple Bar 12-4pm
October 13th at Powerscourt Town Centre 12-4pm
October 20th at the National Print Museum 12-4pm
October 27th at Imaginosity 12-2pm

Wouldn't it be great to see initiatives like this around the rest of the country?
