The Children's Book Festival 2012 will take place this year in October. The programme, which includes readings by popular authors, writing and illustration workshops, storytelling, quizzes and competitions, will take place in libraries, schools and art centers around the country. Authors Cressida Cowell (the How to Train your Dragon series), Alexander Gordon Smith (the Furnace series) and Che Golden (The Feral Child) will be travelling to Ireland to talk about their writing. Readings from Irish authors Celine Kiernan (Into the Grey), Maeve Friel (Tiger Lily) and OisÃn McGann (The Wisdom of Dead Men) are also among the festival highlights.
